The Tripp County Treasurer Office is looking for a full-time Deputy Treasurer to assist the Treasurer in the fiscal and investment operations of Tripp & Todd County funds.
What you’ll get to do!
Conduct complete and accurate collection of all taxes, assessments, levies and other monies due to the county from all sources of income.
Maintain complete and accurate records and updates all tax changes
Perform collection of all fees related to motor vehicle licensing, registration, title transfers and taxes
Prepare daily check deposits, balancing and posting daily
Verify prior day’s business for the state
Assist with end of month books
Assist with investing county money
Assist with applications for tax relief
Receive incoming calls and provides customer service
Assist public by providing information and answering questions
Collection of advance and escrow payments
Prepare and send property tax notices to individuals, banks and businesses
Prepare and send delinquent tax notices
Prepare daily, monthly and annual reports
Sign plats in the absence of the treasurer
Any other jobs assigned
What we’re looking for!
High School diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge of general accounting principals
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to tactfully communicate with others, either orally or in writing
Knowledge of or ability to learn South Dakota codified laws
Knowledge of general office methods and procedures
Knowledge and ability to operate required office equipment
Ability to utilize various computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public
