Job Summary

The Treasury Team is responsible to manage the Companys mix of interest rate sensitive assets and liabilities in an effort to protect profitability from volatility due to changes in market rates. In doing so, the team is required to meet both legal and regulatory expectations related to liquidity and interest rate risk management, secured funding trust administration and traditional cash management.

This role will support the Treasurer in the execution and general management of interest rate risk management processes and procedures as well as the general funding, investing and Trust management needs of the business. As a senior leader, this individual interfaces with various levels of management, uses advanced analytical skills, and demonstrates proficiency for financial risk management.

Essential Job Functions

Asset and Liability Management Prepare, implement and enhance periodic ALM Committee and Board reporting packages for both Bread-owned financial institutions as well as the Corporate Board of Directors. Plan, scope and lead the effort to select a new IRR model for the business. Direct and oversee the implementation and validation of the new model. Thereafter, perform complex analyses required to adequately manage and monitor each institution’s interest rate risk as well as the consolidated risk of the business. Monitor compliance with all relevant policies, including Interest Rate Risk, Investing and Borrowing. Document and regularly enhance the ALM model as required by management and/or regulatory guidance. Ensure all required controls and processes are fully documented and tested as required by bank policies.

Trust Administration Direct the trust reporting process, analyze macro trends and prepare related management reporting. Coordinate the control structure related to the monthly trust reporting process and all other Trust processes. Manage the relationships with Trustees and conduit lenders. Create and maintain process and control structure documentation. Monitor processes for compliance with trust legal documentation. Coordinate annual Reg. AB and internal securitization process audits.

Funding Program Manage the Banks wholesale deposit funding programs and related controls and reporting. Maintain relationships with deposit brokers and other external stakeholders. Develop and maintain reporting specific to each element of the program for Executive Management, Board and Regulatory consumption. Monitor and report on associated liquidity and market risks. Coordinate effectively with the Cash Management team to ensure clear line of sight across the Treasury group.

Governance & Control Structure Coordinate and manage regular interactions with internal audit, enterprise risk and SOX teams, including audits, model validations, risk and control self-assessments, control testing and general second line of defense oversight. Manage the controls assessment and testing program for the Treasury team making assignments and reviewing completeness and accuracy, as required. Ensure adequate documentation and control planning across all aspects of the Treasury processes.

Continuous Improvement, Project Management and Business Relationships Actively consider the business needs and challenges related to liquidity risk and funding and propose solutions when necessary. Perform various projects as requested by management. Assess all Treasury functions for potential process improvements. Demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills in dealing with internal and external customers and businesses partners including senior Company executives and regulatory examiners. Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy by analyzing data and presenting conclusions based upon the data. Remain organized, exercise effective prioritization and multitasking abilities, understand the importance of project deadlines, and practice effective time management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree Required: Bachelors degree

Area of Study: Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related field

Years of Work Experience Required: Seven or More

Type / focus of work experience required: Asset/Liability Management, liquidity/interest rate risk modeling, banking and/or financial services experience

Preferred Experience:

Degree Preferred: Masters Degree

Area of Study: Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related field

Years of Work Experience Preferred: Nine or more

Type / focus of work experience preferred: Asset/Liability Management, liquidity/interest rate risk modeling, banking and/or financial services experience, some Treasury experience, bank regulatory experience or exposure
