The Finance Manager Treasury & VAT will play a key role in delivering the treasury management and VAT functions of the Council. This role will have several statutory responsibilities that include ensuring regulatory compliance, development and implementation of the Council treasury management strategy and ensuring that the Council is compliant with the VAT regime. The post holder will work with senior officers and elected members.

To be suitable, you must be an innovative qualified finance professional with a good understanding of the treasury function, and good technical knowledge, including around financial reporting. The ability to build relations, influence and challenge senior stakeholders and explained complex financial information is also essential.

The Council is currently developing new ways of working, outlining how staff can work more flexibly in the future, building on lessons learnt during the pandemic. This is likely to mean that, where they wish to, staff can spend the majority of their time working remotely.
