And it’s where you’ll find some fantastic benefits, including corporate memberships and reward schemes, an Employee Assistance Programme, the Local Government Pension Scheme, and much more.
About the role
As our Finance Senior Specialist (Capital & Treasury), you’ll focus on two of the most prominent and challenging areas of what we do. More broadly, you’ll help the Chief Financial Services Officer and Director of Corporate Services meet our statutory, regulatory and professional obligations. You’ll support compliance, as well as effective financial administration and stewardship.
This is about ensuring that the service provided supports the delivery of our objectives. As well as undertaking the research that keeps us one step ahead, you’ll provide financial modelling, options appraisal and business planning for new initiatives and decision-making.
We’re looking for someone who brings at least four years’ experience of working within a local government finance team. You have a track record of providing expert advice to senior stakeholders and leaders, as part of a unitary or district council. Ideally, you also bring specific experience in Capital, Treasury, or another relevant area.
In terms of technical capability, you’re ideally qualified with a CCAB (Accountancy) or practising via the QBE route. You have a track record of supporting the development and review of key financial strategies, returns and plans. You’re also very good with IT (particularly Microsoft Office), financial systems and building relationships at all levels.
