Global Tax and Treasury Director

Introduction

The Director, Global Tax is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance across the Optimizely group, including US federal, state, other local taxes, sales tax, as well as foreign entity returns, which will be achieved through partnership with our tax partners across the world and supported by the local controllership teams. The Director is responsible for tax planning and optimizing the companys tax structure, including transfer pricing compliance.
The role will also be responsible for treasury matters such as rationalising banking operations across the globe, working with FP&A and controllers to effectively manage and forecast cashflows and requirements and maximising cash efficiency across the group.

Job Responsibilities

• Work closely with the global finance controllers and external tax advisors to identify and implement tax planning strategies that align with the Companys business objectives
• Ensuring local controllers and US tax manager are up to date with tax compliance and filings across all entities in the group.
• Oversight of the design and documentation of transfer pricing policies and procedures for intercompany transactions
• Participate with and advise leadership on the cash tax and financial reporting implications of certain business activities and acquisitions
• Manage all tax audits and inquiries. Serve as primary contact for audits by regulatory agencies or external representation
• Ensure tax-efficient and risk-managed financing of global operations
• Partner with controllership staff and external advisors to ensure compliance for sales & use tax, gross receipts, personal property and all other local taxes as needed
• Responsible for maintaining the companys tax calendar
• Prepare audit schedules, group tax workings and disclosures and work with auditors on questions for the statutory accounts
• Work with external advisors to calculate and remit all estimated, instalment and final tax payments for the group holding company
• Assists with creating change in company tax policies and procedures to better achieve economies and efficiencies and better management of tax operations through a continuous process improvement mindset
• Capable of communicating with all levels within the organization
• Develop and document controls around tax accounting and disclosures.
• Build and maintain groupwide cash forecasting models in conjunction with the FP&A team
• Ensure cash is being managed efficiently across the group by managing intercompany transfers and dividends
• Rationalise the banking requirements across the group and set up global banking arrangements to allow rapid expansion into new territories.
• Assist in any FX and interest rate hedging analysis as required

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience and/or Training 7+ years experience in tax compliance; 2-3 years experience in a tax manager (or director) or equivalent role; Experience with US and non-US tax compliance; Experience with sales tax compliance; Experience with transfer pricing in complex Global company; Public Accounting experience required

Education

Degree level education, ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified
