Tax & Treasury Manager (Real Estate)

This is an important role within the business and requires a committed candidate with solid property tax experience, knowledge of VAT and prior involvement in Treasury related matters.

Tax

• Preparation of corporation tax returns for group companies and partnerships
• Liaising with 3rd party consultant on capital allowances
• Provide oversight and challenge on quarterly VAT returns
• Provide tax input on property acquisitions, disposals and developments
• Review of weekly Investment Cases with specific attention to key tax matters
• Provide guidance on tax treatment of ‘unusual transactions’, e.g. one-off receipts and whether they should be capital or revenue
• Be point of contact for other tax topics – CIS, SAO, employment taxes, SDLT etc

Treasury

• Review of bank accounts on a daily basis and ensure that payments are funded as needed.
• Calculate and initiate monthly bank account cash sweeps in accordance with senior financing arrangements.
• Calculate, recommend and pay quarterly investor distributions and recharges, preparation of relevant data packs, organise relevant investor and JV approvals in line with company policy.
• Review capex IC cases from a Treasury perspective / coordinate any lender consents/notifications
• Close interaction with TT Treasury providing data to assist them and support refinancing/debt tapping arrangements

Experience

• Qualified accountant with at least 5 years’ experience
• Strong property tax knowledge
• Ability to manage technical tax issues
• Knowledge on funding documents
• Highly numerate
• Excel literate
• Proficient with Alphatax
