Treasury Accountant12 Month Fixed-Term ContractCentral London | Hybrid£65,000 – £70,000 + benefits pro rataA large international business is recruiting a Treasury Accountant to join its Group Treasury team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.This is a hands-on role covering treasury accounting, intercompany activity, derivative valuations, hedge accounting, reconciliations and controls. The role will also support the implementation of a Treasury Management System and the continued automation and improvement of treasury processes.Key responsibilities include:Prepare and post treasury journals, including funding movements, interest accruals and settlementsPerform month-end mark-to-market calculations for FX transactions and reconcile derivative valuations to the general ledgerMaintain treasury balance sheet reconciliations and support Group reporting and auditPerform monthly intercompany netting and support the resolution of intercompany differencesPrepare IFRS 9 hedge accounting entries and maintain hedge documentation and effectiveness assessmentsCoordinate interest rate swap valuations and reconcile against counterparty valuations and accounting recordsSupport the implementation and testing of a Treasury Management System, including accounting functionality and general ledger interfacesImprove and automate treasury accounting processes, reconciliations and controlsInvestigate and resolve accounting, settlement and reconciliation issuesWork closely with Treasury, Group Finance, Tax and local Finance teams internationallyThe successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with relevant treasury accounting experience gained within a complex organisation. You will have strong knowledge of treasury accounting, including FX and derivative transactions, intercompany accounting, interest calculations and month-end journals.Practical experience of IFRS 9 hedge accounting, including derivative accounting, hedge documentation and effectiveness assessment, will be important. You will also have strong Excel, analytical, reconciliation and financial control skills.Experience with Finastra or another Treasury Management System would be advantageous, as would previous involvement in a Treasury or finance systems implementation.The role will suit someone comfortable working hands-on with journals, reconciliations and month-end accounting while also having the technical knowledge to deal with derivatives, FX and hedge accounting.
