Assist the Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer with various regular and project based activities related to The Hartfords holding company (share repurchases, common dividends, debt issuances, credit facilities, etc.)
Support the management, reporting and payment activity related to the share repurchase program, common dividends, debt outstanding and payments related to debt and common stock.
Manage internal capital movement / subsidiary dividend process, particularly those requiring regulatory oversight. Co-ordinate across various groups, including Legal, Statutory, Liquidity Risk, etc., to ensure subsidiary dividends satisfy regulatory requirements while meeting holding company liquidity requirements
Prepare quarterly 10K/10Q and Statutory disclosures related to The Hartfords holding company and maintain appropriate documentation
Support the Treasurer on rating agency projects and presentations, including peer analysis and annual rating agency meetings.
Analyze alternative financing vehicles to determine impacts on key financial ratios. Participate in meetings with investment banks related to new capital markets ideas and other financial products which could be utilized to enhance The Hartfords financial position.
Support the Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer in developing presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors, as required
Interacts with various disciplines across the company including: legal, accounting policy, capital
Bachelors Degree required
1-2 years of experience in a finance-related role or cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) at the time of graduation with a relevant major
Desired majors include, but are not limited to: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Investment Management and Business
Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Ability to use data management, including creating pivot tables, lookup functionalities, scenario / sensitivity analyses, etc.
Communication skills and the ability to develop clear and effective presentations
Detail oriented and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
Results oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects with competing priorities
