The Annuities Capital Management team is responsible for managing Required Capital, GAAP equity, capital cash flows, borrowing, and liquidity for the Annuities business. Additionally, the team supports capital and liquidity projects for new business initiatives, pricing and hedging strategies, and reinsurance projects.
The team interacts with various areas throughout Annuities and Financial Management including Treasury, Chief Investment Office (Global Portfolio Management, Modeling & Analytics, and Trading & Hedge Management), Actuarial, Enterprise Risk Management, and Tax. Thus, the ability to partner effectively with other Annuities areas, Domestic Business counterparts, and Corporate is critical.
The position will require the individual to have or to gain a solid understanding of financial results on GAAP, statutory, and tax reporting bases, as well as the ability to translate these into meaningful financial analytics as input to strategic business decisions.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Support enterprise capital initiatives including stress testing and the Risk Appetite Framework
Support the quarterly forecast process with responsibility for required capital, capital cash flows, and liquidity
Analyze, describe, and present changes to forecast and actual required capital to Treasury, Annuities, and senior management
Support strategic projects and initiatives related to capital and liquidity
Develop presentations for senior audiences
Qualifications :
Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or business-related field is preferred
3+ years of financial management/analysis/research experience with exceptional analytical skills
Progress towards or commitment to a CFA, CPA or MBA is preferred
Demonstrated leadership and partnering skills
Strong knowledge of insurance and actuarial concepts, GAAP, statutory, and tax accounting are needed but could be obtained through on-the-job training
Critical thinking and problem-solving experience are required
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and manage multiple projects
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
Presentation development and delivery skills are needed but can be enhanced while on-the-job
