Treasury Deputy Controller

Your role at a glance

What you’ll be doing

• Management of Treasury control ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, standards / policies (including EUC and FCF), setting and adhering to best practice.
• Responsibility for all treasury control activities including Risk Mandates, Risk Registers and Risk Management Framework review including ensuring all transactions are properly recorded. Work across Treasury and with Group legal to help ensure delegated authorities are appropriate. Ensure that all activity undertaken is in accordance with Group Treasurys delegated authorities and risk mandates. Responsible for Treasury control risk monitoring and risk reporting including developments to improve control and performance.
• Manage relationships including:
• Group Financial Control in respect of the accounting, reporting and controls.
• LGIM Operations in respect of all Back Office and services provided
• Drive and manage production of all Group Treasury management information and reporting including monthly, quarterly and annual Treasury financial reporting, cash forecasts and SRC ensuring quality, accuracy and timeliness. Ensuring timely delivery to meet business requirements Take responsibility for the monthly LTOG meeting, agendas and MI packs.
• Manage Treasury Management System ensuring appropriate controls are in place and co-responsible for approval of Group Treasurys daily transactions
• Actively seek and drive process improvements and efficiencies within Group Treasury and across the Group while maintaining appropriate controls.
• Be a subject matter expert to:
• Undertake other projects for Group Treasury, requiring sound understanding of Group Treasury activities
• To consider implications of plans or process changes to various aspects of Treasury control

What we’re looking for

• Qualified accountant with extensive PQE in a financial services environment or equivalent experience
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS accounting standards applicable to Treasury activities particularly IFRS9/IAS39
• Strong knowledge of accounting implications of Treasury trades, control environment applicable to financial reporting and Treasury activities
• Strong knowledge of Treasury activities including money market, foreign exchange and derivative transactions.
• Working knowledge of Treasury management system (FIS Quantum desirable)
• Significant business experience including control implementation, process improvement, external and internal financial reporting as well as risk management, preferably within Treasury function
• Must be able to manage a number of deliverables / projects and prioritise accordingly
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships
• Sound commercial acumen
