Treasury Finance (Broker-Dealer and Swaps)
Mizuho is seeking a detail oriented, talented individual, in a small but active Treasury group, supporting the US Broker Dealer and Swap Dealer businesses. This person will be a creative self-starter and critical thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills, who is looking to experience all aspects of Treasury by doing daily funding, liquidity reporting, as well as participating in challenging, high-impact projects.
Treasury Major Responsibilities:
Funding & Liquidity: Assess funding needs to meet obligations as they come due and to ensure the availability of cash and/or collateral to fulfill funding requirements at all times.
Cash & Collateral Management: Treasury obtains collateral from (Mizuhos US broker dealer) repo desk and directs the pledge of cash and collateral to various exchanges and counterparties to fulfill margin requirements.
FX Funding & Hedging: Treasury swaps non USD cash balances into USD in order to mitigate currency risk and also to fund non USD bank accounts.
Reporting: Create and prepare value added reporting to inform management of the firms funding status.
Systems enhancements for Murex: assist in a project to refine securities and cash ladders, to ensure that Treasury products and trades are being processed correctly and correct cash forecasts can be obtained.
Participate in ad-hoc projects and presentations on an as needed basis.
Back up other entities funding traders (broker dealer, equity derivatives) funding/liquidity management functions.
Partner with internal stakeholders in continuously enhancing and automating liquidity and funding analytics capabilities.
Active participation in understanding/documenting new regulations that affect funding and liquidity.
May be asked to assist in the gathering of relevant and appropriate information to support regulatory requests related to Treasury.
Primary: Repo, margin, pledge in/out to exchanges, FX spot and swaps, loans, deposits, money market mutual funds.
Secondary: interest rate swaps, other derivatives, fixed income, equities.
4 years or greater Treasury experience in the financial services industry, with specific focus on broker dealer/derivatives knowledge and experience.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
Working knowledge of financial markets and products
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure
Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in an efficient and effective manner
Must be detail oriented.
