The Treasury Manager Financial Risk & Investment Management is primarily responsible for the daily management of foreign currency exposures as well as the maintenance of Alcons foreign currency risk management framework.
He/she is also responsible for the periodic investment of excess liquidity at Group level and will collaborate closely with the Director, Financial Risk & Investment Management (to whom he/she reports), other Group Treasury team members, team members from other Group Finance functions (of which Tax, FA, External Reporting, APL) and local finance organizations.
Identify, monitor and forecast FX exposures across the Alcon group.
Analyze and report the impact of FX risk on operational/business and group-level financials
Responsible for the execution of foreign exchange hedging transactions and the monitoring of the portfolio of intercompany loans
Contribute to financial modelling and benchmarking using multiple analytical techniques (VaR, CFaR, stress-testing etc…)
Monitor and maintain appropriate risk tolerances and approved limits with banks (counterparty risk management)
Design an FX risk management reporting dashboard for senior management
Develop cash and loans monitoring tools, FX exposure tracking mechanisms and establish periodic cash-flow and hedge results reporting
Maintain operational relationships with banks in relation to derivatives and derivative settlements
Develop and execute an investment strategy for the excess liquidity at Group level
Utilize bank relationships to gather industry/financial market intelligence
Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements (SOX, EMIR, FinFrag)
Leading / collaborating on different projects within the Treasury function and with other Group Finance functions.
Actively contributing to an effective sharing of knowledge and best practices within the organization
Masters in Finance with good understanding of international financial markets and derivatives
Fluent in English (must), any other language an asset
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a treasury or financial service environment (corporate treasury an advantage)
Hands-on experience with FX hedging solutions and related concepts (FX and interest rate markets, valuation, hedging instruments)
Good knowledge of key treasury finance and accounting principles
Understanding of how market risks and hedging impact business results (transfer pricing, contracting, transaction versus translation risk)
Prior experience with FX All, Bloomberg and Kyriba preferred
Ability and motivation to work both strategically as well as hand-on
Self-driven and autonomous working style
Able to adapt quickly and efficiently to new work and market conditions
Excellent intercultural and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective executive communication of all Treasury related matters to senior management
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
